Fawzia Gilani-Williams

Fawzia Gilani-Williams has worked as a teacher, school administrator and librarian in the UK, USA and Canada.

She is the author of over 25 children’s books. Most of her stories are about Eid. She says, ‘I discovered that the second largest celebration in the world was noticeably absent and obscure in primary schools and public libraries. It’s a gap that needed to be filled.’
Her book, ‘Ismat’s Eid’ initially published by Tulika was republished in the USA by Marshall Cavendish as, ‘Nabeel’s New Pants: An Eid Tale’. Her newest title is ‘Cinderella: An Islamic Story’.

She is currently studying Children’s Literature at the University of Worcester and divides her time between the USA and UK.
