Sowmya Rajendran

I'm a children's writer based out of Pune.

I have a BA in English from Stella Maris College (Chennai) and an MA in Gender Studies from the University of Sussex (UK).

I enjoy writing picture books that value fun and explore issues in a way that children can relate to.

I've published six picture books in a series titled 'The Underwater Friends' with Think Big Books.

My titles with Tulika are Aana and Chena, The Snow King's Daughter, Power Cut and School is Cool I also have a story published in the Water Stories anthology again with Tulika.

I've also published several short stories with Chandamama magazine where I worked for two years.

Writing for children keeps me happy.
