Summer is ushered in with mixed feelings. On one hand it brings in the intense heat of the sun adding to the general discomfort, but along with it it brings in the sweet delicious mangoes loved by one and all.

Summer is also a time for vacations during which some children may head for the cooler climate of the hills with their families whilst others may while away their time, lazily sitting under the shade of a big leafy tree playing games, chatting or telling stories.

The authors have successfully brought in the flavours of summer by listing the delectable drinks that abounds during this season - raw mango panna, nimbu paani and lassi.

Summer is also a time to carefully water trees that have been planted in the spring for then in a couple of years they will become full fledged trees.

Unlike most books on the weather that expounds the traditional western weather patterns of the four seasons, this book not only talks about the seasons as we experience in the Indian sub-continent but also takes the reader through the special features and festivals associated with each.
